Oh! St. Alphonsa, you have been graciously chosen from our midst to be united with Jesus Christ, our Saviour, in the mystery of His passion, death and resurrection. You have grown to the heights of holiness and have been crowned with heavenly glory. Help us in our trials and tribulations. Oh, daughter of sufferings, obtain for us the grace to lead a holy life, following your example- in total submission to the Will of God. Be with us, transforming all our sorrows into a holy sacrifice in union with Christ Crucified, in reparation for our sins, for the sanctification and the salvation of the whole world.
Amen.
St. Alphonsa (1910–1946), the first canonized saint of India, is known for her humility, patience, and acceptance of suffering. Despite enduring physical pain and hardship, she remained joyful, offering her suffering as a prayer for others. Her life is an example of inner strength, surrender to God’s will, and faith in times of adversity—qualities that can strengthen family bonds and inspire our parish to support one another in faith. St. Alphonsa’s legacy encourages us to find peace in God’s plan and approach life with resilience and a hopeful heart.
