Annual General Body Meeting – Puthu Yogam – 21-June-2026
The Annual General Body Meeting (Puthu Yogam) of the parish was held on 21 June 2026 and was attended by the Parish Council members and the heads of families. The meeting commenced with an opening prayer led by our Vicar, Rev. Msgr. Sunny Mathew, CMF.
The parish trustees presented the Annual Report for the previous year, the report for the current year, and the audited financial accounts. This was followed by a fruitful discussion during which members of the assembly shared their suggestions and observations for the continued growth and welfare of the parish.
Mr. Tiju Thomas, Mr. P. A. Issac, Mr. Cyril and Mr. Ajiesh Mathew were elected as the new parish trustees for the term 2026–2027:

The meeting concluded with a prayer of thanksgiving, seeking God’s blessings upon the newly elected trustees and the entire parish community.
CATECHISM – JUNE 2026
Teachers’ Orientation Programme – 31 May 2026
Ten teachers, including the Headmistress (HM), Assistant Headmistress (AHM), and the Parish Catechism Secretary, participated in the Teachers’ Orientation Programme held at St. Thomas Forane Church, Dharmaram, on 31 May 2026.
The programme commenced with the celebration of the Holy Qurbana, with Bishop Mar Sebastian Adyanthrath as the principal celebrant. This was followed by an inspiring orientation session led by Fr. Nikhil Johny, who encouraged teachers to make “Grace” their language in their ministry as catechists. The session was both enriching and motivating.
After lunch, a unique panel-style interactive session was conducted, providing participants with an opportunity to share experiences and learn from one another. The teachers expressed that the programme strengthened their faith, renewed their confidence, and deepened their sense of responsibility in their mission as catechists.
Diocesan-Level Catechism Inauguration – 7 June 2026
The Diocesan-Level Catechism Inauguration for the academic year 2026–2027 was held on 7 June 2026 at St. Thomas Forane Church, Jalahalli. The event was inaugurated by Bishop Mar Sebastian Adyanthrath, who was accorded a warm welcome by the children, parish trustees, catechism teachers, and parishioners.
The Holy Qurbana was concelebrated by Msgr. Sunny Mathew (Parish Vicar), Fr. Mathew Moothedam (Assistant Vicar), Fr. Jilu, and Fr. Anoop. Following the Holy Qurbana, the faithful gathered in the parish hall for the official inauguration ceremony. Bishop Mar Sebastian Adyanthrath lit the ceremonial lamp and formally inaugurated the catechism year in the presence of representatives from various catechetical ministries.
The occasion also marked the celebration of the Bishop’s Silver Jubilee (25 years of Episcopal Ministry). Parishioners honoured him with a cake-cutting ceremony and presented him with a memento as a token of gratitude and appreciation.
During the programme, the catechism teachers renewed their commitment by taking the Teachers’ Oath, administered by Fr. Mathew Moothedam, after which the Bishop imparted a special blessing upon all the teachers. The gathering concluded with refreshments and fellowship.
Catechism Orientation Programme – 7 June 2026

A comprehensive orientation programme was organised for both parents and students following the inauguration.
The children were divided into three age groups—Lower Primary (LP), Upper Primary (UP), and High School/Higher Secondary (HS/HSS)—to ensure age-appropriate formation.
Fr. Jilu animated the Lower Primary session through songs, action activities, and storytelling, introducing the children to Jesus in a joyful and engaging manner. The Upper Primary session was led by Mrs. Celesteen along with the Jesus Youth Team, who used interactive activities, music, and discussions to deepen the children’s understanding of their faith.Fr. Anoop addressed the High School and Higher Secondary students, encouraging them to live as committed young disciples of Christ. The sessions successfully combined faith formation with creative learning, making the experience enjoyable and meaningful for the children.
A parallel orientation session was conducted for parents by Mr. Paul and Mrs. Raji Paul, parents of four children. Through practical examples from their family life, they shared valuable insights on nurturing children’s faith amidst the challenges of modern society. They highlighted the threefold mission of Christian parents:
The session inspired parents to embrace their vocation as the primary educators of their children in the faith.
Participation in the CML Inauguration – 14 June 2026
Ten students, accompanied by CML Coordinator Ms. Anu James, participated in the CML (Cherupushpa Mission League) Inauguration held at St. Sebastian Forane Church, Mathikere, on 14 June 2026.
The programme was attended by Fr. Paul Manjooran, Director of Catechism and CML, Mr. Santo, CML President, and other dignitaries. During the inaugural gathering, they highlighted the mission and vision of the Cherupushpa Mission League in forming young disciples of Christ.
In his address, Fr. Paul Manjooran emphasised that CML provides children with opportunities to grow spiritually through prayer, charity, evangelisation, and active participation in the life of the Church, thereby helping them become committed witnesses of Christ in society.
Society of St. Vincent de Paul
Visit to Akashaparavakal Thirumugham Ashram – 1 May 2026
As part of the Year of Care Programme, ten members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul visited Akashaparavakal Thirumugham Ashram, Lakshmipura, on 1 May 2026.
The members spent time in prayer at the Ashram chapel and interacted with the residents, especially the newly admitted inmates, offering them companionship, encouragement, and spiritual support.
As a gesture of Christian charity and service, the Society donated monthly groceries worth ₹25,000 to the Ashram to support the care and well-being of its residents.
The visit reflected the Society’s commitment to living out the Gospel through acts of compassion, solidarity, and service to those in need.
Mathruvedi celebrated Mother’s Day and Nurses’ Day with great joy and gratitude.

As part of the celebrations, Mrs. Soji Jaison was honoured in recognition of her valuable contributions to the Samaritan Group, Wings of Hope – Special Angels’ Ministry, Santhome Pages, and other parish initiatives.
The nurses and mothers serving in various medical professions in the parish were also felicitated in appreciation of their dedicated and compassionate service to society.
A Hair Donation Drive was conducted to support the preparation of wigs for cancer patients, encouraging members of the parish to contribute to this noble cause.
In connection with World Environment Day, tree saplings were planted in the church compound and at the Lakshmipura Cemetery, promoting environmental awareness and care for creation.
