The Annual Retreat of St. Thomas Forane Church, Jalahalli, was held from February 20 to 23, 2025, offering parishioners a sacred time for reflection, renewal, and deepening of their faith. As previously announced, the retreat began on Thursday evening, inviting the faithful to set aside these four days to grow closer to the Lord and receive His abundant blessings.
Rev. Fr. Jison Paul Vengassery, a renowned preacher from the Changanassery Diocese, led the retreat with spiritually enriching sessions that inspired and uplifted the participants. The retreat featured Holy Qurbana, Confession, Eucharistic Adoration, and guided reflections, creating an atmosphere of grace and renewal.
The first day of the retreat held special significance for the children and youth of the parish, as many were preparing for their exams. The community united in prayer, seeking God’s wisdom and strength for them.
This year’s retreat was particularly meaningful as it coincided with the Jubilee Year declared by Pope Francis, under the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.” In response to the Holy Father’s call, the retreat became a profound journey of faith, encouraging parishioners to reflect, seek reconciliation, and renew their commitment to God. It also provided an opportunity to receive plenary indulgences, allowing the faithful to experience the depths of God’s mercy and grace.
The overwhelming participation of parishioners made this retreat a truly blessed and transformative experience. Hearts were renewed, spirits strengthened, and faith deepened as the community came together in prayer and reflection.
May the graces received during these four days continue to guide and bless our parish in its journey of faith!
